Yes this is the first post and will be the last one with any text in. This is for anyone to show us their armies, be a brigade for Hasting's Brigadier 38, a company for Ook's Went the Day Well, or any other system or force that you use. To put it simply here is a place to place photos of whole units that you have enjoyed painting and playing with.

Now there are a couple of rules that need to be said:

Firstly, Can you please just place the photos here and a brief note to who and what they are. You can post your photos by faction or as one lot, I would prefer by faction.

Secondly, if you want replies to your force and lets admit it who doesn't, can you please either have another thread that links to this one or place the photos here and in another thread. I will be posting posts to this thread of armies, units that I find and anyone can do the same.

Thirdly, PLEASE DO NOT ANY COMMENTS, as I have said if you want to comment please link this to another thread.

Fourthly, when you update your forces can you please just update the original post instead of creating a new one, thanks.

Fifthly, enjoy using this.

Gentlemen, allow me to introduce Lord Percy, Duke of Northumberland and his peasant shooting party. Occasionally they have been known to join forces with the LDV (Longhoughton Defence Volunteers) to take on the Ashington Coal Collective. Generally Lord Percy aligns himself to the King (Edward that is) but is keen to increase his influence over the border area and finally stop the other thorn in his side, the Kielder Freemen. Apart from the servants section the main weapon is the shotgun and there is only one LMG and one SMG in the whole force. Who needs firepower when you can deploy aristocratic arrogance?

The whole force except the cavalry section.

What ho chums - a bit of a placeholder at the moment I'm afraid...

These are some photos of my forces so far. I've yet to take any large group shots, so for now i've bundled them into their factions and will tidy this post up as and when!

Strange vehicle aquiried from Europe. Rather useful for getting some firepower over the fields and moors of Northumberland. I really must get round to changing the MG42 over to an MG34

With the syphoning off of any Regulars in the city to the Army of the Severn Valley, along with the best equipment, a scratch "mobile" force of TA units has been assembled in Bristol and based at Horfield barracks.

HQ, Signals, Medics and the all important support facilities.

Some of the local paramilitary forces.

With the BUF heavily engaged against rebel forces in Somerset, only a few Legion troops are guarding key positions in the city backed up by their militia units and lorries armoured up with sleepers and corrugated iron.

Units of the Bristol police, with the mounted section augmented for rapid deployment.

The Duke of Monfort's own militia, raised from friends, employees and tenants - mainly to keep trouble out of south Gloucestershire. Also the Combined Public Schools' Cadet Force.

Some other forces operating in the area.

A bunch of ruffians operating under Left Wing auspices.

Anglican league forces, supplied with equipment by their continental friends.

There's a couple of sub-units of the Anglian "regulars" sitting half done on my painting table - got rather sidetracked with Indian Mutiny and our Sudan project of late.

The Ashington Coal Collective or ACC. Extreme left wing activists have got among the collieries and mining villages around Ashington and stirred up all sorts of problems. With a little help from the shipyards to the south (Tyneside) they have constructed a couple of coal fired steam tanks, slow and ponderous but potentially dangerous, if only to the operators! They have a small section of cavalry mounted on the larger pit ponies. Having virtually no military training other than the occasional chap who served in the Great War they adopt a "horde" approach to their tactics.

Here are the Longhoughton Defence Volunteers or (I hear you groan) the LDV. A mixed bunch of chaps from the village of Longhoughton and its surrounding countryside. Not especially well armed the LDV have fully embraced the enthusiastic ameteur spirit of 1938 and improvised many of their vehicles and weapons. Armed largely with old SMLE rifles and the odd Lewis gun they are more likely to kill the enemy through laughter as the Aerosan fast attack vehicle takes off than through direct military action.

These are the various Regular/TA forces that could really align themselves to any of my factions although personally I feel that they are most likely to be seen alongside the Longhoughton Defence Volunteers or Lord Percy's Peasant Shooting Party. Oh and yes I realise that the carrier is a bit too late for 1938 but I haven't had chance to sort out an earlier one yet. They're mainly based on the 50th Northumbrian Division with a fair splattering of gentlemen from a certain Home Guard unit a lot further south than Northumberland! They're a mixture of Warlord Bolt Action, BEF Miniatures, Great War Miniatures and Wargames Foundry.

I only have two more factions left, my attempt at AL which is an epic fail so probably won't be shown here and my Northumbria Police.
